Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Best.Dentist is a directory and enquiry service operated by ADPLUS MEDIA INC. This policy applies to visitors, people who send enquiries, reviewers, and practice users. We are a directory, not a health-care provider: we do not ask for or hold medical records, diagnoses or insurance details.

2. What we collect

  • Enquiry details you type: name, phone and/or email, city, service, the practice you choose, your message, and your answer to the coverage question (whether the visit may be covered by Medicare, Medicaid or CHIP).
  • Consent records: which consent boxes you ticked, and when.
  • Reviews: your rating and text, published with your first name only; your full name and contact details are kept privately, and in some states must be kept so a review can be verified if a dental board asks.
  • Practice account and billing details: cards are processed by Stripe; we do not hold card numbers.
  • Technical logs: with IP addresses stored hashed.

3. Why we use it

To run the directory, deliver your enquiry as you asked, operate reviews, bill practices, prevent fraud, and meet legal duties. We do not use enquiry information for advertising targeting.

4. Who receives an enquiry

The practice you chose — named in the consent flow before you submit — and, only with your separate permission, one backup practice at a time if the first doesn't respond.

5. Sale and sharing of personal information

We do not sell your personal information for money. In some states, delivering an enquiry a practice pays to receive may be defined as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out here: Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information — email support@best.dentist with "Do Not Sell or Share" in the subject, and we honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals automatically. We never sell enquiry data as a list, to brokers, or for advertising targeting.

Categories collected in the last 12 months: identifiers (name, phone, email), enquiry content, consent records, review content, and internet activity limited to our own logs. Categories disclosed for a business purpose: identifiers and enquiry content, disclosed only to the practice you chose (and a backup with your permission). Sensitive personal information is limited to what you type into an enquiry or review; we do not use it for any purpose beyond delivering that enquiry or review.

6. Consumer health data

An enquiry can reveal health-related information — the service you ask about. We collect only what you type, from you, for one purpose: delivering your enquiry to the practice you chose (and a backup with your permission). You may withdraw consent and request deletion at any time via support@best.dentist. We do not geofence health-care facilities and do not collect health data beyond what you type into an enquiry or review.

7. Your rights

Depending on your state, you may have rights to access, correct, delete and receive a portable copy of your information, and to opt out of sale/sharing. Email support@best.dentist; we respond within 45 days. If we decline a request you may appeal by replying to our decision; deletion requests are passed on to practices that received your enquiry. State supplements (including CA, CO, CT, VA, TX, OR, NJ and MN) apply where their laws give you additional rights.

8. Retention

Enquiry records are anonymised after 24 months. Consent records are kept with the record and for 3 years as evidence. Review records are kept for the life of the listing. Security logs are kept for a shorter period.

9. Cookies and tracking

We use one class of functional cookie and aggregate analytics. There are no advertising pixels on enquiry or review pages. We honour Global Privacy Control signals.

10. Security and breaches

We maintain a written information-security programme appropriate to the information we hold. If a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you and regulators as applicable law requires.

11. Children

The service is for adults. Enquiries about children's dentistry are made by a parent or guardian about their own child. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
